amulet starts with the Chasidic invocation BEHANU: "With the help of
G-d we shall achieve and succeed". The circumference is G-d's
42-letter Name. It is derived from the hymn
Ana Bekoah, using the
first letter of each word. Traditionally this inscription is
followed by "Praised be His glorious sovereignty throughout all
times". The next three lines are names of angels: Yophiel, Urpaniel
and Raphael (for healing). This amulet is thought to protect against
pollution, internal or external, with the words from Psalm 49:6. The
closing inscriptions are: "A shield (protection) for the bearer of
this amulet" and " May it be Thy will, Amen". Superscription: BEHANU,
